Sam Dola, M.D.

Sam Dola, M.D.

Dr. Dola earned his Medical Degree at the University of Damascus, Syria. He was Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, before his Residency in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, IL. His Hematopathology Fellowship was at The Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH. Before joining our group, he was a practicing Hematopathologist and Director of Flow Cytometry at Aurora Health Care, Milwaukee, WI. Dr. Dola is certified in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology as well as Hematopathology. Dr. Dola's interest and expertise include flow cytometry, cytogenetics, FISH analysis, and molecular diagnostics, as well as morphologic evaluation of bone marrow material and lymph nodes.

E. Martin Flores, M.D.

E. Martin Flores, M.D.

Doctor Flores is a graduate of the Universidad Nacional Federico-Villarreal Medical School, Lima-Peru. He completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes Medical Center, and a Pediatric Pathology fellowship at Children's Memorial Hospital, Chicago. He is Board Certified in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology and Pediatric Pathology and maintains memberships in the College of American Pathologists, American Society of Clinical Pathology, and Society for Pediatric Pathology. Dr. Flores' interest and expertise include general surgical pathology, pediatric neoplasia, perinatal and placental pathology, clinical chemistry, and coagulation.

Enric P. Solans, M.D.

Enric P. Solans, M.D.

Dr. Solans earned his Medical Degree at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, Barcelona, Catalonia. He was a Research Associate at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, IL. Before his Residency in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology, also at Loyola. Before joining the group, he was a practicing Pathologist at Loyola University Medical Center and Hines VA Hospital. Dr. Solans is Board Certified in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology as well as Cytopathology. Dr. Solans' interest and expertise include General Surgical Pathology, with a special interest in breast, prostate, lung, and liver pathology, as well as Cytopathology, including gynecological cytology, exfoliative cytology, fine-needle aspiration biopsies, and computer-assisted morphologic and quantitative cellular evaluation.

Cagatay Ersahin, M.D.

Cagatay Ersahin, M.D.

Doctor Ersahin is a graduate of Ege University Medical School, Turkey. He earned his PhD. in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood IL, where he also completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. In addition, he completed a Fellowship in Breast and Gynecological Pathology at Magee-Women's Hospital/the University of Pittsburg, PA. Doctor Ersahin joins us from Loyola University, where he practiced for several years as an attending physician in general surgical pathology with a special focus in Breast and Gynecological Pathology. He has many areas of interest and has lectured, written, and published extensively. In addition to Breast and Gynecological Pathology, his areas of interest include Head and Neck, Lung, and Gastro-Intestinal Pathology.

Umesh Kapur, M.D.

Umesh Kapur, M.D.

Doctor Kapur is a graduate of Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, India. He completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, IL, where he was chief resident (2006-7), and a Fellowship in Cytopathology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He joined us from Loyola Univesity, where he was Assistant Professor in Pathology for several years and practiced General Surgical Pathology, specializing in Cytology and Gastrointestinal Pathology. He is author and co-author of numerous publications and book chapters and maintains membership in Several Pathology Societies. His areas of interest include cytopathology, gastrointestinal, and liver pathology.

Mark Roberts, M.D.

Mark Roberts, M.D.

Dr. Mark Roberts is a graduate of the Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, in Boston, and completed a Fellowship in Hematopathology at Northwestern Univesity School of Medicine, in Chicago, Illinois. He is Board Certified in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology. Before joining the group, he practiced hematopathology at Hematogenix Laboratories in Tinley Park, IL, and general surgical pathology as well as hematopathology at Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Roberts provides bone marrow biopsy services at Ingalls Hospital. In addition to his expertise in hematopathology, he provides expertise in the interpretation of flow cytometry, coagulation, and molecular analysis.

Maysoun Ghannam, P.A. (ASCP)CM

Maysoun earned her Master's of Science in Pathologist's Assistant Studies from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, North Chicago, IL. She earned a double undergraduate degree at The University of Illinois, Chicago, in studies of exercise physiology and kinesiology, and completed her pathologist's assistant training at Rush Medical Center, Chicago, and Stroger-Cook County Hospital, Chicago. She maintains her board certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology and is a fellow of the Americal Association of Pathologist's Assistants. She oversees the training of Pathologist's Assistants, as well as, maintaining Surgical Procedure and Policy Manuals according to CAP guidelines and also maintains Quality Assurance Reports. She loves teaching medical students and students interested in the field of pathology medicine. Her interests include gyne, breast, and lung pathology.

Katelyn earned her Master's of Science in Pathologists' Assistant from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, North Chicago, Il, and her degree in Bachelor of Science from Baylor University, Waco, TX. She maintains her board certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology and is a fellow of the Americal Association of Pathologist's Assistants. Before joining the group, she worked previously at the University of Chicago as an Anatomic Pathology Technician and at Teleflex Medical, Arlington Height, Il as a QA Laboratory Technician. She is proficient in examining and preparing specimens for pathologic evaluation and assisting in intraoperative consultations and frozen section evaluations of surgical specimens. She also provides support in maintaining Quality Assurance. Her interests include general surgical, gynecological, and autopsy pathology.

Robin Biggs, P.A. (ASCP), HTL(ASCP)

Robin earned her Master's of Science in Pathologists' Assistant from Ohio State University, College of Medicine and Public Health, and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology (double major in biology) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Before joining the group, she worked as Senior Pathologist's Assistant at the University of Chicago Medical Center, and previously as Pathologists' Assistant at Carillion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Lewis-Gale Clinic, and Children's Memorial Hospital. She maintains her board certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology and is a fellow of the Americal Association of Pathologist's Assistants. She is also a trained histotechnologist. Her interests include breast, gastrointestinal, and gynecologic pathology.
